Second you would be needing a hosting provider. Now it is very important to get a reliable hosting cause we can’t afford failure from the hosting provider like SQL error, data loss. Some of the reliable hosts are 1and1.com, godaddy.com, hostgator.com etc. Make sure that you get enough bandwidth, SQL, PHP support and other important features. You would be needing these features while installing scripts like word press, Joomla! etc.

Now once you’ve choosen a hosting provider, the next thing is to decide what kinda website you wanted to make, whether you wanna run a Blog, powerful website with good Content Management system, a Forum or anything else. Now to start a blog, you’ve got to install scripts like WordPress or Movable type. They are best and more than that, they’re FREE!.

To run a Dynamic Website you need to install Joomla!, Similarly if you want to run a forum you need to install PHPbb, it’s easy to install and operate these. You can also build static HTML pages in Microsoft expression or Adobe Dreamweaver. But I recommend you to choose scripts.

Decide what type of website you want to build.

Many web hosting providers (shared) will provide you inbuilt option to install these scripts. But if you want to install manually take the step by step method from their official documentation or manual. Once you’ve installed the script you’ve got to consider the following:

1. LOOKS: Decide what kinda looks you would need to make your website attractive, find template and widgets to do this.(most templates are free but if you’re serious get the nice once from Template Monsters at templatemonster.com.)

2. FEATURES: Get widgets, plugins and mods from the official website of the script you’ve installed, apart from your usage the important plugins that you must install are Google analytic plugin and SEO plugin. So that you may track your visitors with world’s best tracking service and SEO to drive traffic.

3. CONTENT: More the quality of your content, more the quality of your website’s visitors, REMEMBER content is the KING!

Once you’ve mastered these you will not face any problem about your  website. In case if you face and you can’t figure out what the heck was that, hire a freelancer to do this I’ll later describe more about this Freelancing.

Search Engine Optimization is the third most important factor of your consideration while running a site after Website’s technology and Content.

You’ve got to make nice strategy. Learn how to optimize website. Here I’ll teach you few stuff that you must do to optimize your website perfectly.

1. KEYWORDS: Make a list of your keywords and research using tools like wordtracker. Make your content relevent to your keywords. Your keyword density must be 8-10%

2. LINKS: You must get relevent backink in order to get high page rank. Submit your site to directories, social sites etc.

3. META: Your meta tags, keywords, descibtion and title must be relevent to the keywords of your content.

4. AT last: CONTENT IS THE KING.

5. DO NOT SPAM: Dont try to be oversmart. If you will spam, your reputation would be pathetic!

6. Don’t use black hat tactics unless you are a SEO master.

Do viral marketing by posting your website to social networking sites. Install twitter and facebook widgets on your website and post your updates there. In this way you could drive more traffic and backlinks.

Give people free gifts like ebook in order to subscribe or visiting your website and ask them to share it with thier friends. You must provide a very high level of quality content to make people a referer.

Post videos on youtube, open official youtube, twitter and facbook accounts of your website. Post articles on websites like ezinearticles.com. If you can, try to submit your website on Dmoz.org.

Hiring freelancer has many benifits. They can create websites, logos and anything you want from them. They can write articles for you, get backlinks and do techy stuff for you. But be careful, hire only registered and reputed freelancers. You can find many sites that gives you freelancers, by Googling it. They will charge you only few bucks to do all your work.
